Flying With Angels
by Cindy ~ February 28, 2007
I received a beautiful ‘thank you’ gift from Operation Migration yesterday. Two beautiful photos that brought tears to my eyes. I mean really, can you imagine the pure thrill and joy of being up in the air with these most beautiful and endangered birds? I can. I saw them with my own eyes while visiting Wisconsin last fall and longed to be UP there with them. What a priviledge and honor.
These folks have worked SO hard to get the population up again in so many ways. They still have their work cut out for them, but I’m more than certain they’ll achieve great success with time. I was also quite happy to see my good friend Mike on the list of those who have donated to Remembering Class of 2006 as well.. for he is one that walks his talk. I have a feeling he probably felt the same thing I did when I received the photos. Sadness and a more than a bit of hope, for hope truly is the thing with feathers. There are angels among the skies in the form of Whooping Cranes and those that care enough to help them soar.
