Name That Insect

Garry managed to get this shot yesterday while photographing odes. I love the colors/comp. and sense of being lighter than air he captured.

But- an insect with square forewings? What’s up with that?
I cabnt read field guides well right now, so I’m clueless.
Meanwhile, hubby photography is growing- faster than an insect taking to the air.
