Got Leaves?

by Cindy ~ July 10, 2007

I don’t sleep well, so have been browsing aroud pbase galleries- check out this one-Mike Moats Pbase Gallery AWESOME!

I call Mike ‘the leafman’, and his work is simply… well ya gotta see it for yourself. Photographing intimates like this isn’t easy.. so much depends on light. light holds no secret from Mike.

I can’t think of leaves without thinkinf of ‘the master’ and a kindred spirit, Guy Tal. He sees with his heart and it shows. His Up Close gallery is magnificent- I own 3 prints from the first page alone and we’re doing yet another print exchange.. they all speak to me, quietly yet forcefully.

And speaking of leaves, check out Rattlesnake Rattles and Dogwood Leaves by my buddy Mike Brown. Exqiuisite- I love sepia and need to use it more myself someday, but in the meantime these gifted artists/photographers take a closer look at leaves… leaves that I love so well.

Now to make more wallspace… when you make friends via Nature Photogtphers.net, you tend to cover bare walls quickly. They have transformed my home into a peaceful beautful gallery of sorts…I love green,, it heals. Photos heal- trust mr on that one.

And DON’T even get me going on the artwork/photography of Mark Graff.A LARGE framed print of ‘Wetlands in Fog’ hangs over my bed.

My nurses, aids, therapists and friends all love it.
What’s not to love… can you hear the dawnsongs of birds and feel the cool mist on your face? Does it make you long to be there?
The signature of a truly great image is that it moves you on a deep level. I’m forever moved, hanging on and enjoyiing the rIde of natural beauty and endless wonder.
